Dear Priests, Deacons, Religious and Lay Faithful of the Archdiocese of Bulawayo,
1. Synod 2021- 2023:
On 9 October Pope Francis addressed the synod members in Vatican and laid out the guidelines for this process and on 10th he officially launched the Synod with a Holy Mass. All the dioceses in the world are to officially open the same on 17 October in the respective Cathedrals. All
Parishes and Missions are likewise do the same on 17 October. During the Mass the logo of the synod and theme should be explained to the people.
Archdiocesan synod team has already done lot of work with the extended team. Each SCCs, associations and parish are to discuss the questions prescribed in the Vademecum sent to you. Priests should animate the process and send in their parish reports to me not later than 20 January 2022.

2. AGM 2021:
The AGM of laity will take place on 20 November 2021 at Emthonjeni Pastoral Centre. Due to Covid limitations it will be a one day event starting at 09.00 and ending at 16.00 hours. Each parish should send in their chairperson and secretary while from Missions due to financial constraints should send their chairperson or a representative. Each participant will pay an amount of USD 10.00 for the food and meeting expenses. Those who come from the Missions will be accommodated at Emthonjeni for Friday and Saturday. From Deaneries newly elected chairperson, secretary and treasurer should attend. Each association and movement at Archdiocesan level will send in one representative.
This will be an elective AGM for the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council. All deans are remineded to send to me the personal details of the deanery Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer in the prescribed form.
Each parish, mission, association and movement is required to send in their annual report in writing or through email to me not later than 10 November.
The AGM of priests will take place on 14 December 2021 at St. Mary's Hall, starting at 09.00 and ending at 16.00 hours.
For both the AGMs the theme will be Synod 2021-2023.
3. New AMR Schools:
A new primary and secondary school at Lupane centre owned and managed by the AMR sisters will be officially inaugurated on 26th November 2021. We congratulate and wish them many blessings.
4. AMR General Chapter:
This will take place during the month of December this year and we wish them many blessings.
