Dear Priests, Deacons, Religious and Laity of the Archdiocese of Bulawayo,
1. Pilgrimage to Empandeni:
This year the attendance and participation of all were extremely well done. There was lot of prayerfulness. I thank all the pilgrims and organisers for the wonderful work done. Let us keep up such good spirit.
2. 45th AGM of the Laity:
This was held from 3 to 5 November at Emthonjeni Pastoral Centre. We thank all those who participated in this event and their contributions.
During the AGM following persons were elected to the post of Archdiocesan Pastoral Council for 2024 & 2025.
Chairperson: Blessing Marwa (from Our Lady of Lourdes)
Vice Chairperson: Augustine Taurai (Queen of Peace)
Secretary: Nomanzi Tshuma (Holy Trinity)
Vice Secretary: Lovejoy Rwafa (Holy Cross)
Treasurer: Nontokozo Sikhosana (St. Patrick's)
Committee Members: Antony Nyoni (Holy Family), Norbert Mreme (Empandeni), Theresa Peters (Tsholotsho)
3. 47th AGM of the Priests:
This was held on 7 November. The pastoral theme of next year was approved by the priests as: SYNODALITY AND CO RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL THE BAPTISED.This is in continuation of the synod of bishops which ended few days ago in Rome.
4. New Venture in Bulawayo:
The Franciscan Missionaries of Divine Motherhood (FMDM) sisters have opened a new centre at their convent near Mater Dei hospital for prayer, retreats and spiritual direction. 5. 60th Anniversary of Christ the King Parish:
This will be celebrated on 25 November 2023. We wish the Parish many blessings on this occasion. On the same day Deacon Tatenda Kakwenda CMM will be ordained a priest.
As we are about to begin the season of Advent I wish each of you many blessings.
