In this Year of Mercy our Easter celebrations have to be something very personal and deeply spiritual knowing and believing that the Heavenly Father out of his abundant love and mercy has showered upon us grace upon  grace. By His resurrection Jesus has made us a new creation in Him. Let us remain in  this newness of life for ever. Let us be constantly renewed by the Holy Spirit to maintain this newness of life in our personal lives and in our families.

I am very  pleased that during the season of lent a lot of spiritual activities were undertaken by individuals, associations and parishes. The participation in the deanery days of prayer and fasting have been observed very seriously.   We are created for God and only our deeper spiritual life can enable us to  remain closer to Him.  “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth” Colossians 3;1-2.

Let us reach out to others with our Easter Joy.

“When we look only for success, pleasure and possessions and we turn these into idols, we may well have moments of exhilaration, an illusory sense of satisfaction, but ultimately we become enslaved, never satisfied, always looking for more. It is a tragic thing to see a young person who “has everything” but is weary and weak”. (Pope Francis)
